Located in the connective tissue of the dermis, between the fibers of collagen and elastin, it acts simultaneously as a "glue", "mesh" and "frame" for the epidermis, responsible for the correct structure and arrangement of cells. In addition, it stimulates cell division during the synthesis of collagen scaffolds by fibroblast cells, which are responsible for the natural regeneration of the skin. An increase in their number leads to filling of the intercellular space, which, in turn, reduces the loss of moisture through the skin.
